Other Innovations

With useful extensions for successful configuration

In the following, we present minor innovations that can be used in special applications or everyday configurations.

File size limit for trace

  • The maximum file size of a Single Trace can now be defined.
  • The default is 2 Gigabytes and the trace is terminated when the limit is reached.
  • The aim is to prevent trace files from becoming so large that they fill the entire hard disk. Otherwise, certain system processes may no longer function properly due to the lack of free disk space.

Teams Ext= Add parameters

When rewriting in the node, an Ext= parameter can be conveniently added. Previously, this was only possible with a somewhat complicated configuration. This is useful in the MS Teams environment when working with Extension Numbers.

New profile in the media transcoding options

A profile can now be set. The Performance and Compatible profiles are available for selection. By default, the objects are created with the Compatible profile.

This is useful for small to medium-sized systems. Sending audio packets with comfort noise is then automatically activated if no data is coming from the other “call leg”.

This opens firewalls and also enables the other side, which is waiting for RTP packets, to find out from which external IP address anynode is sending packets so that it can then send packets to anynode itself. This is a very common support case that previously always had to be configured manually. Now this is the standard. Routing forward profiles that have already been created are not changed.

Maximum connection time

The maximum connection time of a session can be set in the Routing Forward Profile. For example, it can be defined that calls via a specific route must not last longer than 4 hours.

The maximum connection time of a session can be set in milliseconds, seconds, or minutes in the Routing Forward Profile. This setting is only visible at an extended detail level.

New Microsoft Teams SBA integrated

With anynode and the Survivable Branch Appliance (SBA), it is possible to make voice calls to external or internal phone numbers even if the connection to the Microsoft Teams Cloud is interrupted.

The SBA is an additional Windows application that is automatically delivered as a service with every Windows-based anynode deployment. If desired, the latest Microsoft Teams SBA installation package can be used during anynode installation.

Teams Node extension

Teams nodes can now also accept calls from Microsoft without checking the FQDN.
